A Day at the Beach
It's a quiet, misty day here in Half Moon Bay. I'm bored and so is Frankie. We look out the window and nap and go to our bowls to see if there is any new food, there is not. We would love to go someplace. Wait! Our Mom, Carol Montgomery Adams, is getting our leashes. She is putting on her coat! Oh boy! I think we are going to go for a walk for maybe a ride in the car. Leashes on and here we go....she takes us to the car. I am so excited. She puts me in the passenger seat and Frankie goes to his spot on the seat in between us. She puts down the window and now my ears are flattened back as the wind blows on my face and I sniff the air. I can tell by the air that we are going to the beach..the air is getting saltier and saltier. Then we arrive and she opens the door and I'm the first one out. Oh, I am so frisky and excited, I race to the nearest bush and make my mark. Then she takes us on a great walk along the coastal trial. Oh, this is our favorite walk. The sound of the waves, the cool wind and people walking by. All sorts of sights and sounds for our Westie senses. I would stay out here all day if I could. I jump a bit when geese suddenly fly over us honking. Where did they come from? I haven't seen or heard geese since we moved here. And then a dog comes up, but I'm not too friendly because I have so much energy and I just want to get going and sniff everything while I have the chance. I hear my mom say something about me being a good boy but having too much energy right now. So, she keeps us walking. YEAH!! It never lasts long enough for me, but I'm glad we went and Frankie is too. He's pulling us every which way to get a better sniff and pee...my Mom just laughs at him.
What a day. It started out so boring and wet and then the sun came out and we went to the beach and had the best walk in days. Now, Frankie and I are happy dogs and we will dream tonight of running and sniffing along the coastal trail of Half Moon Bay, anticipating the next time Carol Montgomery Adams gives us another beach surprise.
